Business & Council Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 28.10.2025
1. Nature of Service
ParkSentinel connects businesses and councils (“the Client”) with independent van-based operatives (“Sentinels”) who provide an on-site presence only — observe and report. ParkSentinel is not a security guarding company and does not employ or manage Sentinels as staff.
The Sentinel’s role is strictly limited to maintaining a visible presence, observing activity, and reporting issues or concerns as directed by the Client or ParkSentinel.
2. Independent Contractors
- All Sentinels operate as independent contractors — they are not employees, agents, or representatives of ParkSentinel.
- Sentinels are responsible for their own insurance, equipment, and conduct.
- ParkSentinel acts as a coordination service and is not liable for any act, omission, or negligence of Sentinels while on site.
3. Payments and Bookings
- All bookings are prepaid in advance by bank transfer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Shifts are generally up to 12 hours and rates may vary depending on cover type and notice period.
- Cover types include:
- Observe Only: from £60 per night
- Observe + Patrol: from £70 per night
- Observe + Patrol with Dog: from £80 per night
- Bookings made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur higher rates (typically £100–£150 per shift).
- Clients are required to confirm the exact site location, parking access, and any on-site instructions prior to booking.
4. Site Conditions and Access
- Clients must ensure there is safe and legal access for the Sentinel’s vehicle to park for the duration of the shift.
- If the Client does not hold public liability insurance covering third-party presence, the Sentinel may be positioned outside the perimeter or at an agreed roadside location.
- Clients should inform ParkSentinel if electricity or water is available for longer-term deployments.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Provide full site address, contact details, and emergency procedures before each booking.
- Ensure any gates or locks can be opened or closed as required for site security.
- Brief ParkSentinel or the Sentinel about any hazards, restrictions, or expected visitors.
- Report any incidents to ParkSentinel as soon as practicable.
6. ParkSentinel Responsibilities
- To arrange and coordinate attendance of a suitable Sentinel.
- To ensure Sentinels have been identity-verified and understand the non-confrontational “observe & report” nature of the work.
- To maintain communication between the Client and Sentinel as required during assignments.
7. Insurance and Liability
- ParkSentinel holds no liability for damage, theft, loss, or injury sustained by the Sentinel or Client during attendance.
- Clients are advised to maintain their own insurance policies to cover property and third-party risks.
- Sentinels are individually responsible for their motor and public liability insurance.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
- Bookings cancelled more than 24 hours before the shift start may be refunded or rescheduled at ParkSentinel’s discretion.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the shift may be subject to full charge.
9. Data Protection
ParkSentinel handles all Client and Sentinel data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and current UK data protection laws.
10. Limitation of Liability
ParkSentinel provides an introduction and coordination service only. We do not accept responsibility for the actions, omissions, or performance of independent Sentinels, nor for any consequential loss or damage arising from their presence or absence.
