Shift options

How ParkSentinel shifts are structured.

Every shift is built around the same core idea: a trusted Sentinel stays on your site overnight, maintains a visible presence, and helps make the site appear active, occupied, and monitored. Below are the most common shift patterns used by businesses and Sentinels.

Core shift types

Most common

Standard Overnight Shift

Typical window: roughly evening to early morning, flexible by site.

  • Sentinel arrives in the evening and parks their van in the agreed visible position.
  • Remains on site overnight so the location never appears empty.
  • Provides visible presence and general site awareness throughout the shift.
  • Notifies you of anything out of place or any concerns.

This is the main option used for farms, industrial units, vehicle yards and vacant properties. Pricing for businesses typically starts from £60 per night, per site.

Short-Notice / One-Off Cover

For specific nights when you’re concerned about risk.

  • Ideal when you have new stock on site, a recent incident, or staff away on holiday.
  • Book a small number of nights rather than committing to a long contract.
  • Same pattern as the standard shift: overnight presence, visible van, and site awareness.

Subject to Sentinel availability in your area. Businesses often use this to test how ParkSentinel works before booking more regular cover.

Extended cover options

Multi-Night / Weekly Cover

For sites that benefit from a consistent pattern.

  • Same Sentinel allocated for several nights a week or a block of dates.
  • On larger or more complex sites, you can choose to have two Sentinels covering different areas.
  • Helps make your site look consistently occupied during higher-risk periods.
  • Useful for longer projects, seasonal work or ongoing storage of valuable equipment.

Frequency and nights can be agreed individually for each site. Businesses can discuss preferred nights when enquiring.

Weekend & Holiday Cover

When your site is left completely unattended for longer stretches.

  • Sentinel covers key nights over weekends, bank holidays or shutdown periods.
  • Overnight presence helps reduce opportunistic visits.
  • Can be combined with your existing CCTV, alarms and physical security measures.

Exact timing and pattern is arranged to suit each site — for example, Friday to Sunday nights only, or selected holidays.

What every shift includes

Regardless of shift type, ParkSentinel shifts are built around the same core elements:

  • A trusted Sentinel staying on site overnight in their van.
  • Van positioned where it is clearly visible as being on your site.
  • Motion-activated security lighting on the van.
  • Motion-detection CCTV recording around the premises.
  • Light reporting of anything unusual, so you stay informed.

ParkSentinel is a presence-based deterrent service. Sentinels are not deployed as security guards and are expected to act sensibly and safely at all times. Their role is to make the site appear occupied, monitored and less attractive to opportunists. Pricing is per Sentinel per night, with the option for two Sentinels on suitable sites.
